His counseling approach focuses on identifying commercial opportunities, stimulating creativity, and thinking outside the box. He is committed to continuous self-improvement aligns with the Ironman endurance ethos, to tackle challenges with determination, commitment to excellence, and a passionate dedication to learning and growth.
Erwin’s career journey began as a sales manager for a Dutch company, where he managed markets in Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Scandinavia. He then joined a British, stock-listed corporation, assuming the role of export manager for Eastern and South European markets, along with the South American region. With eleven years of international sales experience, he eventually transitioned to become the joint CEO and co-owner of Interbest.
Under Erwin’s leadership, Interbest achieved substantial growth by adopting a buy-and-build strategy, evolving into a a prominent out-of-home advertising companies in the Netherlands. He played a key role in the start of digitalization of this industry in the Netherlands, including the acquisition of large format LED displays in China. In 2019, Erwin accomplished the successful transition of Interbest to Ocean.
Throughout his career across multiple industries, Erwin demonstrated proficiency in sales, finance, HR, IT, and mergers and acquisitions. His expertise extends to diverse sectors, including family businesses, private equity, and stock-listed companies, and he has been actively involved in corporate finance, and collaborating with municipalities and government bodies.
In his counseling role, Erwin empowers start-ups and small- to mid-sized companies, enabling them to achieve their business goals and realize their visions and innovations. He is a valuable sparring partner and business developer, assisting businesses in both the Dutch market and beyond.
Erwin’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics, a post-bachelor’s qualification in finance for non-financials, and further qualifications in entrepreneurship, sales, HR, and European Union tender rules. Being a native Dutch speaker and also fluent in English, German, and Spanish contributes to his international work experience.
Currently residing near Eindhoven, Erwin has retired as CEO but still plays an active role as advisor to Ocean Outdoor. Otherwise, you can find him enjoying time with his family, traveling and focusing on his training to maximizing his Ironman success.
